Harris Stratex to Appear in Multi-Vendor Mobile Backhaul Interoperability Showcase at CTIA Wireless 2008

April 1, 2008
Harris Stratex to Appear in Multi-Vendor Mobile Backhaul Interoperability Showcase at CTIA Wireless 2008Research Triangle Park, NC, April 1, 2008 - Harris Stratex Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSTX), the leading independent supplier of turnkey wireless transmission solutions, including wireless Carrier Ethernet, will participate in the Mobile Backhaul Interoperability Event at CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas April 1-3. The showcase is organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) and supported by both the IP/MPLS Forum and the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF).

Located in Booth #4119, the interoperability showcase brings products from leading global vendors together and demonstrates a wide range of mobile backhaul solutions working together over a unified network. The solutions were previously demonstrated at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress in Paris, France—both held last February. For each of these showcases, Harris Stratex is demonstrating the ability of the Eclipse™ Carrier Ethernet over Wireless™ solution to support the functionality, performance and resilience required for tomorrow’s next-generation backhaul requirements by operating seamlessly within an MPLS, TMPLS and PBBTE network environment.

Eclipse supports side-by-side native transport of both TDM and Carrier Ethernet over the same link, an essential capability for operators seeking a smooth, cost-effective path for migrating existing mobile networks to platforms that support next-generation packet-based broadband applications. The Eclipse platform’s Liquid Bandwidth capability allows available capacity to be allocated to either voice or data traffic through software control. Recently certified by the MEF, Eclipse was the first wireless product to meet the requirements of both MEF 9 and MEF 14 technical specifications.

Guided 15-minute tours of the showcase will be available for media, analysts and customers in booth #4119 from Tuesday, April 1 through Thursday, April 3 between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.
